2025/26 year
This sample from Cameron’s Beach had mostly Anchovies (blue), some Pilchard (red), Tarakihi (orange, not visible in pie chart), Triplefins (yellow, not visible in pie chart), and Blue warehou (pink). “Other” prey (white) were Inanga and Red cod. No non-fish prey was recorded.
The sample from Cameron's Beach had almost equal parts Anchovies (blue) and Stout sprat (red). Extralimital Pacific saury (darker pink) was also recorded as well as extralimital Needlefishes (light blue) and Warehou (pink). “Other” prey (white) were krill, Sandfish and Bonnetmouth.
2024/25 year
The sample from Cameron’s Beach had Anchovies (blue), Pilchard (red), Blackhead lanternfish (green), Tarakihi (yellow), Warehous (pink)) and Barracouta (grey). The “other” species (white) were Whitebait, Armourhead stargazers, Rebains’ portholefish, Hoki. The non-fish prey detected were squids and krill.
This sample from Punakaiki had mostly Anchovies (blue). “Other” species (white) were Saury and extralimital Pacific Saury, Jack mackerel, Blue warehou, John dory and extralimital Needlefishes, and a large proportion of unidentified fish.
The sample from Camerons Beach had Anchovies (blue) and Stout sprat (red), Triplefins (yellow), Barracouta (grey), and Blue warehou (pink). The “other” species (white) were NZ sole, Orange clingfish, Red gurnard, Hoki, and Whitebait. The only non-fish species recorded was Northern arrow squid.
